AGI

Artificial General Intelligence has no agreed definition, which the book argues matters more than any timeline. The textbook version, a system that does any intellectual task a human can, collapses under questions about emotion, physical intuition, and creativity. Lab leaders predict 2026 to 2029; a survey of 2,700 researchers puts the median near 2045. By the practical definition, transforming industries and automating knowledge work, we are arguably already there.
